A web application developed to perform specific processes and deliver certain functionality will align with your business goals and deliver a unique customer experience.
Web App Development
We are specialists in developing bespoke web based applications and ecommerce solutions for small to medium sized businesses.
Sometimes off-the-shelf web application software does not meet the necessary functional requirements some businesses need.
Why Bespoke Development?
Depending upon the urgency and the need of a piece of software with a specific purpose, a bespoke web application is the way forward.
As web applications are our speciality we love to sit down with a new customer and discover their requirements and turn it into a specification. Benefits of having a bespoke web application developed include:
Some Benefits of Having a Bespoke Web Application
Custom software developed to integrate with your businesses existing and future processes will allow you to free up time and focus on one or more important things requiring your attention.
There are a myriad of business scenarios that your company may not have foreseen. By having developers on side who know your application inside out makes it possible to respond to unforeseen events.
As the web application has been custom developed it will be easier to add security precautions at specific inputs and outputs. Adding an SSL certificate, firewall and antivirus software should also be considered.
After the initial application has been designed, tested and put live it should then require a minimal level of maintenance to maintain performance. The only things that are most likely to need updating are the scripting language and any APIs that have been integrated.
The application will be able to scale with any new features or integrations that may be needed. Also the applications hosting or database may need to be upgraded due to rapid growth.
The Web Application Development Process
Every new project idea begins with the customers project requirements where sometimes what is required is fully known otherwise it can be very vague. Either way at this early stage ideas are brainstormed, pictures are sketched and functionality is defined. The creative process is fun until a complete picture of all the project requirements are refined and agreed by both parties.
2. Specification and Quote
After there is clarity on the project requirements this is then turned into a formal specification which will include all the details agreed upon at the requirements stage. From the specification we are then able to determine a project timescale, hosting requirements and all costings presented in a formal quote.
3. Project Development
Upon our quote being accepted we will begin the the app development process. As each section of the app is built and tested it is not uncommon for customers to request new features that they had not previously thought of. We are usually happy to do this after assessing how it will impact other areas of the app and may incur additional charges.
4. Beta Testing
After the main project development phase has been completed a beta version of the app is then released to see how it performs in the real world. If any part of the app fails then any bugs are then fixed and that area of code retested. After being released again and no part of the app fails it is then ready to release properly.
